What We Do

Since 1985 Carolina Cockers has been saving thecookie.jpg lives of homeless cocker spaniels across the country. To date, we have saved over 2600 cockers from certain death in kill shelters and otherwise dangerous situations. After 23 years, we are now changing our focus. Below are our current goals:

1. To place the cockers remaining at Carolina Cockers in good, loving homes.

2. To educate the public. We have formed a group of knowledgeable cocker owners and rescuers to answer any questions that you may have. Cockers end up in Animal Shelters because their owners feel as though they are out of options. We want to give you every option to keep your family member.

3. To assist cockers in Animal Shelters in finding homes or moving them to Cocker Rescue. We will network nationwide to place homeless cockers into Rescue groups who can help them find good homes. We will make ourselves available to any cocker in a shelter within our reach for grooming, vetting and anything that dog needs to find a home directly from the shelter.

4. We will “take orders” via our application for specific cockers wanted for adoption. For instance you want a cocker who is buff, female, under 5 years old, good with children and housebroken. You put in your application and we will search all rescue groups and shelters to find your specific cocker.

5. We will raise funds in any way possible to assist homeless cockers. That may mean holding auctions, internet solicitations, affiliate marketing programs, email blasts and dog shows.

6. We will educated the public on the need for spaying and neutering. In short, if your dog isn’t altered then don’t ask us why he’s lifting his leg on your new sofa. Spaying and neutering is the only way to end the plight of homeless animals.

7. We will support and promote legislation to end gas chambers and heartsticks as forms of euthanasia in our country. We will promote and support more government funding for animal shelters and greater tax relief for rescuers.

Please help us in our efforts to put an end to cocker spaniel homelessness. If you shop via the internet for anything at all, PLEASE click through our Banner Mall. Every purchase that you make will go towards helping a homeless animal. Please Utilize our new “Diamonds for Dogs” program for all of your gift giving needs.
